New initiative aims to engage entrepreneurs with Nationwide Children’s

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation announced today a new initiative, Entrepreneurs for Kids Everywhere, designed to cultivate and engage interest and support for the hospital from entrepreneurs.

By pledging a small percentage of their personal equity to Nationwide Children’s, the business community can help transform pediatric healthcare. While many entrepreneurs face challenging financial situations in launching their venture, the Entrepreneurs for Kids Everywhere mechanism allows the donor to pledge future earnings when economic stability is more assured.

Participants in the initiative are given the opportunity to learn about the groundbreaking research and clinical innovations happening at Nationwide Children’s, in addition to the latest healthcare technology trends.

Additionally, there are opportunities for networking with hospital leadership, including board members and local community supporters. The first event introducing the initiative was held in May and featured Yasmine Lacaillade, partner at Drive Capital, Tim Robinson, CEO, Nationwide Children’s Hospital and approximately 20 individuals from commercial organizations. Since then, eight local entrepreneurs have officially pledged their personal equity and interest.

“I committed to pledge a small percentage of my personal equity and be a part of Entrepreneurs for Kids Everywhere to continue driving innovation at Nationwide Children’s Hospital,” said Nick Potts, CEO and Founder of ScriptDrop. “I would love for more entrepreneurs to explore this as an option to give back.”

Others who have pledged include John Manner of MavenNext, Matt Golis of GiveGame, Tony Franco of SafeChain, Matt Wyckhouse of Finite State, Ryan and Hoa McManus, Michael Martens and Mike Eckel of SHARE.
